In January–June 2020, Unipro PJSC power plants generated 21,8 bln kWh.
In 1H 2020, electric power generation declined by 14.1% year-on-year. Following the first quarter, Q2 2020 saw a 16.7% decline in generation as compared to the same period of 2019.
The decrease in electric power generation was due to the following factors:
- Lower utilization of Unipro PJSC power plants by the System Operator due to low demand for electric power caused by unusually warm weather in Q1 2020, impact of the new coronavirus disease pandemic, and OPEC+ deal to cut oil production in Q2 2020;
- High hydro generation in both price zones.
The output of heat power amounted to 997.7 thous Gcal. A 12.4% decline as compared to 2019 is due to weather conditions.
